Forest View has a thriving school community that combines the efforts of a strong PTA, local chapters of organizations, involved parents and small businesses. Listed below are the clubs and programs offered
on the school premises throughout the school year. (Please note that in our attempt to make this a comprehensive list, MANY of these activities are NOT sponsored by Forest View PTA!)
Sponsored by Forest View PTA...
Art Docent Program
Kids love art! Unfortunately Forest View does not have a dedicated art Teacher -- that's why your PTA delivers an Art Docent Program. The art curriculum is pre-packaged and makes leading art lessons easy after brief training. Art docents have fun exposing children to different artists and different styles of visual art! Please consider being an art docent for your child’s class! Team Captain: Marion Gillins, gillins@gmail.com.
Garden Club
In this club students will learn about gardening, nature, the earth and the environment. There are seasonal topics every session such as bulbs, pinecones, composting and - YES - weeds! The children love to get their hands in the soil.
Fitness Corner
Strong minds are best supported by healthy bodies - that's why promoting family health and fitness is part of Forest View PTA's mission . We are lucky to have Forest View Parent Rachel Ferguson who researches and writes "Fitness Corner" in our Falcon Flash Newsletter. Go to Falcon Flash eNews to review the great tips, ideas and recipes she has gathered. Have an idea? Contact Rachel at camp.runamuk@frontier.com.
Reflections Art Contest
The Reflections Program is a National PTA and Washington State PTA cultural arts competition. The purpose of this program is to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works.
Each year, Reflections challenges students to create art that supports a specific theme. Themes are selected from thousands of ideas submitted by students to National PTA's Reflections Theme Search. For more information on the program for School year 2011-2012, click here.

Boy Scouts (Sponsored by Boy Scouts of America, Mount Baker Council)
Scouting is a great opportunity to have fun, "face-to-face" time with your child and increase their self esteem through the many achievements they can earn. Cub Scout programs are open to all 1st through 5th graders. Cub Scout "dens" meet once or twice a month to learn new things and complete projects to earn achievement awards; the entire Cub Scout Pack meets once a month at school. Contact CubMaster Cindy Finnerty at micinfin@msn.com. if you are interested in joining. For more information, please visit the Mount Baker Council website.
Girl Scouts (Sponsored by Girl Scouts of Washington)
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others. Forest View has several Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scout troops. To be placed in a Troop go to www.girlscouts.org/join Consider starting a Troop and becoming a leader today!
