Fundraising Philosophy:
Forest View PTA will deliver successful fundraising programs that minimize
time and effort required for everyone involved; while offering maximum
financial benefit for the organization.
Top Fundraiser
Falcon Fun Run
Our PTA Parent Survey told us Forest View parents
really like having one main fundraiser. That's
why we count on the success of the Falcon Fun Run
to fund over 50 programs and events. Plus, Forest View teachers
count on us to fund supplies, tools and equipment the school district cannot provide...in
fact 45% of our budget goes toward this goal!
The Falcon Fun Run is designed to make fundraising as painless as possible—no
products from catalogs to sell, no deliveries to make. If we can make our
fundraising goal of $24,000 this year, we will not have another fundraising push
all year! We have been successful making our Fun Run goals for 4 years in
a row!
The concept is simple. Forest View students simply ask for and collect Fun
Run sponsor donations from neighbors, friends and family. Our Online
Donation Website makes it easy to receive donations from donors across the
country! Check out the Tools for Success for additional
tips and techniques.
All donations are fully tax deductible and the PTA receives an unrivaled 92% profit!
(Traditional catalog fundraisers offer only ~45% profit for the school and
no tax deduction for donors. They require a lot of work for everyone with a
lot less benefit.)
On the day of the Fun Run, all donations are due and students will run, dance, and
hop around the school for fun and exercise during recess. There will be snacks,
music, and activity stations to increase the excitement.
"Simple" Fundraisers
After the Falcon Fun Run financial goal is met in October, there are a few additional
sources of income that help keep us rolling throughout the year. Many
of these provide only a small amount of income...but every bit helps our organization
be successful!
Safeway EScrip
You can earn money for Forest View while you shop for groceries
at Safeway! With every purchase you make of participating
items, 2-4% of the total will go to Forest View PTA! EScrip is a pain-free,
year-round program to earn money for Forest View. Here's how:

- At Home: Confirm on www.escrip.com
that you have “Forest View Elementary” as your designated school.
You just need your Safeway Club Card number to type into the website.
- In the Store: Look for the
yellow School Bus tag on over 2,000 participating products. (You can
find a list of participating items on
www.escrip.com)
- At the Checkout: Use your
Safeway Club Card to buy participating items at checkout. Last year we earned
over $1000 with escrip. Can we double that this year!? Thank you for
your support!
Box Tops 4 Education
Simply
clip the "Box Tops for Education" symbol off any General Mills product!
Save them up and turn them in to your child’s teacher. Each Box Top is worth
10 cents! That may not sound like a lot, but if everyone participates, it really
adds up. We use this money to buy prizes for the Falcon Fun Run top prize
winners and other supplies for the school. It's a great way to keep
our costs down, so keep those box tops coming! Ask friends and neighbors to
collect them too, and don't forget to check your Costco boxes. Visit
www.boxtops4education.com for more information.
Campbell's Labels for Education
Help our school get free stuff (playground equipment,
art supplies, prizes, etc.) by saving labels from Campbell’s Brand Soups,
Pepperidge Farms, Prego, and V8. Save them up and turn them in to your child’s
teacher. Visit www.labelsforeducation.com
for more information.
My Coke Rewards
This
is a fun new way for Forest View to earn points that rewards us for
items like P.E. equipment, art and classroom supplies and electronics. Points
can be found on hundreds of different packages, including DASANI®, Sprite®,
Minute Maid®, POWERADE ION4® and more. HERE’S HOW: Look
under the cap or under the box flap for your coke products code and enter them at
www.mycokerewards.com/schools.
Drink Pouches
Turn in your empty drink pouches and earn $$$ for Forest View!
Every year BILLIONS of drink pouches
end up in dumpsters and landfills across America. TerraCycle, Capri Sun and Honest
Kids are working together to put an end to this terrible loss of resources.
As an eco-friendly innovator, TerraCycle converts the used drink pouches into unique
fashion bags, tote bags, pencil cases, and other items for kids and adults! TerraCycle
is proud to team up with the largest producer of drink pouches in the country, Capri
Sun, and a young organic entry into the market, Honest Kids, to help address this
problem! Together with your help we CAN make a difference!
The TerraCycle Drink Pouch Brigade™ program will help your
family and Forest View prevent drink pouches from taking up space in landfills.
TerraCycle will donate $.02 for each drink pouch we receive, which will go to Forest
View. Save your drink pouches from home, send them to school and turn them
in! And remind your kids to turn in their drink pouches from their school lunches
too.
Matching Fund Programs
Many employers in our area offer matching fund programs for non-profit organizations. Forest
View Elementary PTA is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization and qualifies for
all the tax deductible benefits allowed by law. Be sure to ask Human Resources
in your office if they participate in a matching funds program and you can double
your support for Forest View PTA! In the past, some Forest View families have
had an automatic deduction taken out of their paycheck through United Way and their
company automatically matches the amount and sends a check to Forest View...wonderful!

information on how they work, click here.
PTA Events
Most of our events are designed to "break even" so we can keep costs down
and make it affordable for all Forest View families. We only
charge what we think we need to cover the cost of the event. Occasionally,
because an event had higher attendance or refreshment purchases than expected; Forest
View PTA makes a small profit that you will see on the Income Balance Sheet.
These small and occasional incomes help cover unexpected expenses in other
areas of the budget.
